In general, a certain period of warranty is given on the aluminium construction and the mechanism (motor, louvre system); manufacturer assurance applies to components such as fabric and glass. Yes, but not from shade alone. The difference in felt temperature between a terrace in direct sun and the same terrace in shade is considerable, because blocking solar radiation directly reduces the heat load on surfaces and on people. Aluminium louvres reflect heat better than a fabric shade and pass less of it through to the space below.
The real advantage of a bioclimatic system, though, is ventilation. When the louvres are left at an angle rather than fully closed, the warm air below rises and escapes through the louvre gaps, while cooler air enters from the sides. This natural chimney effect stops stagnant hot air being trapped underneath. The stuffiness felt under a closed canopy therefore does not occur under a bioclimatic pergola. In projects outside Istanbul, production is done in our own manufacturing infrastructure and our installation team goes to the site; logistics and installation conditions are stated transparently in the offer according to the distance. In overseas export projects, the system can be prepared complete, without installation, compliant with European standards and handed over to customs. Yes, this is a request we see often. We take on the removal of the old awning, tarpaulin or canopy system, and this service is stated in the quotation. Clearing and disposing of the removed material is also ours; we take the area over empty and clean. If there are anchor holes and marks left by the old system, we fill and make them good.
The most important thing we watch in this transition is correctly assessing the structural traces the old system leaves. The old awning's anchor points often do not match the new pergola's load distribution, so we calculate the anchoring plan from scratch and set different points if needed. We also encounter cases where the old application created a waterproofing problem on the façade; if we find that, we correct it before the new installation. During the survey we also inspect your existing system and tell you honestly whether replacing it is really necessary.
